Zero Data Retention: Running Stateless AI Proxies on Cloudflare Workers

A technical examination of in-memory ephemeral V8 isolates, zero-disk payload processing, and meeting strict GDPR Article 17 and CCPA data governance requirements.

Enterprise data protection regulations (including EU GDPR, UK DPA 2018, and California CCPA/CPRA) mandate strict minimization and purpose limitation when processing user data. For AI proxies, storing prompt payloads or completions in persistent logs introduces severe compliance liability.

Ephemeral V8 Isolate Processing

AgentMink is engineered from the ground up as a strictly stateless gateway:

  • In-Memory Transit Only: Request bodies and streaming response chunks are held in volatile RAM within ephemeral V8 isolates during transit. They are never written to disk, databases, or object storage.
  • Asynchronous Metadata Ledgering: Only non-PII numerical metadata (token counts, latency in milliseconds, model identifier, HTTP status code) is recorded for billing and usage charts using non-blocking Workers waitUntil() routines.
  • Zero Model Training: Prompt text and completions are never utilized, retained, or sold to train or fine-tune foundation models.

This architectural guarantee allows healthcare, financial, and legal engineering teams to deploy AgentMink in strict enterprise compliance environments.
